Ortho injuries we treat

Spinal injuries

These include conditions like whiplash, herniated discs, and spinal misalignments. These injuries can occur due to the sudden impact and jolting movements during an accident.

Bone Fractures

Commonly occurring fractures include those of the wrists, arms, feet, and legs. The position of the body during the accident, like hands on the steering wheel or feet against the dashboard, often influences the location of these fractures.

Soft Tissue Injuries:

This category covers sprains, strains, and bruises affecting muscles, ligaments, and tendons. They are often the result of the body being thrown around inside the vehicle during a collision.

Joint Dislocations:

These injuries, particularly common in larger joints like shoulders, elbows, knees, and hips, occur when bones are forced out of their normal position in a joint.

Knee Injuries:

Encompassing meniscus tears, ligament injuries, and other knee-related traumas.

Other Injuries:

A variety of less typical injuries from accidents.

Concussion treatment

Traumatic Headache:

Car accident victims may experience persistent post-traumatic headaches, followed by heightened sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and an overall decrease in the ability to perform daily activities.

Ocular-Motor Dysfunction:

A concussion can lead to a vision disorder when an injured person can't properly control their eye movement. You may experience involuntary eye movements and difficulties with tracking moving objects.

Anxiety and Mood Fluctuations:

It's common to experience increased stress, irritability, and anxiety after a concussion. These changes can affect mood and behavior, impacting one's daily life and mental well-being.

Vestibular Issues:

Concussions can impair the vestibular system, which is the system of balance. This may result in challenges maintaining focus during movement and difficulties with coordinating head and eye movements, affecting one's stability.

Cognitive issues and fatigue:

Concussions cause cognitive challenges such as reduced concentration, distractibility, and difficulties with multitasking or learning new information. Fatigue is the most common symptom, impacting daily activities.

Cervical Complications:

The impact causing a concussion might also affect the neck or spinal cord, potentially leading to symptoms like headaches, muscle weakness, and sensations of pain, tingling, or numbness in the arms and legs.
